best anti aging step

With so many creams, serums and lotions promising anti wrinkle miracles, it's hard to know which one to buy, let alone which one to trust with most being well over priced.

It may not be news to most people but did you know the best thing EVER you can do for your skin right now in the fight against aging is sunblock! Yep it's as simple as that. Well if you think about it - what is the point in putting the expensive anti wrinkle creams on your skin if you are only going to cancel it out the moment you expose your skin to the sun?

When I was in my 20's I would bath in the sun all day, thinking a tan would make me look healthy and young. Vitamin D from the sun is great for us but lying out in it for hours with no protection and using sunbeds is scary dangerous. I say that because I have just had my second melanoma removed and this is 20 years later.

Wearing an SPF of no less than 50 is the best thing you can do to not only protect you from harmful cancer causing UV rays but to also prevent premature aging and hyperpigmentation or dark spots. A doctor once told me, if you wear a sunblock every day, the dark spots that are already there will eventually fade.

So does sunscreen really prevent skin aging?

regular sunscreen use protects against photoaging: the wrinkling, spotting and loss of elasticity caused by exposure to the sun's ultraviolet radiation.

If you are still young or even if you are not.....don't be a fool, start using block and pile it on everyday. These days there are really great ones for the face too that don't have to be slippery and greasy and are also tinted so you get the benefit of a sun protection cream as well as a natural foundation finish. Don't go out in the sun during the hottest part of the day and pop on a hat! You will thank me when you are still getting asked for id at the age of 45!

Here are three face products that I have been using. Each are a high SPF of 50. Two are by Nivea and are brilliant as I can either choose tinted or non tinted and they have zero sticky feeling. The other is by La Roche-Posay and it’s a BB cream. It’s great as well and has quite good coverage almost like a foundation. These can be found at the supermarket or chemist warehouse.
